About

I am a first-year PhD student in the Department of Statistical Science at University College London (UCL), funded through the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Collaborative Computational Modelling at the Interface. I am a member of the Fundamentals of Statistical Machine Learning group. I am supervised by François-Xavier Briol, Matt Graham, Jeremias Knoblauch and Louis Sharrock. My current research focuses on simulation-based inference and predictively-oriented inference.

Background

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Sapienza University of Rome and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). My Master’s thesis, supervised by Prof. Andreas S. Schulz, focused on stochastic online scheduling on parallel machines.

Prior to starting my PhD, I worked for two years as a Mathematical Consultant at the Smith Institute in Oxford, where I applied mathematical modelling and machine learning to real-world problems for industry and government clients. During my studies, I have also gained experience as a Data Analytics intern at Munich Re and as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems (IKS) in the Reasoned AI for Healthcare group.
